What is DIB (Device Independent Bitmap)?
DIB (Device Independent Bitmap) is a raster graphics format used by the Windows operating system. Unlike other formats, DIB is "device-independent," meaning that it describes images in a way that ensures the image's appearance remains the same across different devices or resolutions.
DIB files are uncompressed, making them suitable for high-quality image storage, though they tend to be larger in size compared to other formats like JPEG or PNG.
DIB files are typically used for system-level graphics in Windows environments, and they are often used for applications requiring high-quality, uncompressed images that will be displayed or printed without loss of detail.
